Wink Shadow Form Dervish Build...

Okay, so I made this build for AB and I can use it reletively well but I seem to get kicked off teams alot when I ping it... so I just thought I'd post it here for other people to review/try out to see if it really is that bad.

D/A
Shadow Arts 12
Scythe Mastery 10 + 1 + 1
Mysticism 8

-=::Skills::=-
1 - Shadow Form
2 - Heart of Fury
3 - Optional
4 - Optional
5 - Shadow Refuge
6 - Heart of Shadow
7 - Watchful Intervention
8 - Faithful Intervention

Optional Slots:
Zealous Sweep for energy management
Crippling Sweep to counter kiting
Ermite's Attack for extra damage
Radiant Scythe if your energy tends to be above 20
Mystic Sweep for more damage off enchantments

Equipment: Any kind of armor will do but I prefer Radiant just because I am an energy hog. I would recommend bringing a Zealous scythe for e management. It also couples well with Zealous Sweep, giving you 4 energy per hit.

Usage:
- Cast Faithful Intervention and up keep at all times.
- When nearing combat activate Watchful Intervention.
- When entering combat activate Heart of Shadow, Shadow Form and Heart of Fury. Proceed to spam your attack skills.
- Once the damage from Shadow Form takes place, Heart of Shadow will ensure that you don't die and the two interventions will spike your health back nearly all the way up.
- Spam Heart of Shadow, Shadow Refuge and the Interventions until Shadow Form recharges. Lather, rinse and repeat.

-=::Counters::=-
Blinding, melee hexes, etc. (Only relevant when SF is down)
If you have hexes placed on you before SF is cast such as Insidious Parasite or Empathy they will still have their effects on you and will activate Heart of Shadow too early. Be on the look out for those.

Well, what do ya' think of it? Thanks ahead of time.

Do we really need to explain why you get kicked off teams so much?

A. Your using an Assassin elite on a Dervish.
B. It's not even a good one for PvP.
C. You have 4 self heals........HELLO.
D. Your basically useless, a spot filler.
E. http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:D/..._Strike_Spiker

Although I don't like that Spiker build, meh, just don't run that shit you posted in AB, or anywhere.

Y'know the purpose of AB right? it's called Cap n' Kill. That build doesn't do either I'm afraid, GG.

Hey, chill out, man. If the build is bad, let me know; no need to get steamed about it.

And since when is it wrong to swap elites over professions?

EDIT: And this was just a test build, normally I run on a Warrior Spike build, so this was just me playing around.

Since the profession you took it from can do it better.

I thought you might have gotten that your build was bad from the first four statements.

I was just saying you can let a person know their build is bad WITHOUT the use of insults, language, etc. Okay, so the build is crud, no problem. But you need to learn some serious people skills. :P

I don't get it. How old are you, and do you have trouble reading?

I told you that the build is bad, I said shit as the only use of impromptu language, OH NOES!

If you were seriously into the game, I would say that everything that you could fix could be fixed via common sense.

Edit: Last thing, your going to get the same insults from everyone on this forum, and I really don't know what you mean about insults. You are useless, you can't deal alot of damage, or cap....in AB....that's useless to me.

w/e, mods, close the topic. It's turned into a flame topic which is not really needed on the forums.

Shadow Form is not useful for dervishes, because only viable spike-like build for this profession consist of AoL + IAS + 3/4s. Unfortunately, not being effective in AB means that you're simply a spot-filler :/
I personally run AoL fast-attacker for AB, works like a charm on all those SFs/MMs/Monks.

And btw., you ALWAYS try to hit breakpoints for attributes - with dervishes it's 3/6/9/12/15 Mysticism.

you can stay alive as well if you use Dwayna or Melandru
that's just one skill, as opposed to six.
You're only luck is that scythes can auto-attack for alot of damage, however you can do better.

[skill]Avatar of Melandru[/skill]+[skill]Pious Haste[/skill]+[skill]Wild Blow[/skill]+[skill]Wearying Strike[/skill]

Basic AB dervish skills.

Cap shrines while you at least kill fast ..

Well normally when I go in AB with my dervish I run an AoM build, using Wild Blow, Wearying strike and all the good stuff, I was just testing out this build on a PvP character just as an experiment. I toy around with Dervish and Assassin builds alot on my PvP character.

You can't ask for cat pics.
They find their own way into my posts.

Anyho, on-topic - your build is bad, because it carries far too much self-healing and defense in a format where you really ought to be killing things.

Vow of Silence or AoM are better choices., that offer survivability without being a gimp char.

It is possible to make a point on this issue without being obnoxious, for the record - just that this forum has a few ivory-towerites who immediately slam anything they don't like.

Their ideas of good builds are usually still accurate, though.

So instead declaring it a bad build (which generally breeds a flamed thread), could someone post a viable Dervish/Assassin build?

I just recently started playing with a Dervish and I really want to have Assassin secondary. I have enough Monk and Mesmer secondaries on my other characters.

[skill]Mystic Sweep[/skill][skill]Crippling Sweep[/skill][skill]Unseen Fury[/skill][skill]Ebon Dust Aura[/skill][skill]Heart Of Fury[/skill][skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]Signet Of Malice[/skill][skill]Pious Haste[/skill]

I only use that in AB so i doubt it's too effective in PvE..

There's also the Lyssa daggers build using the combo: [skill]Golden Fox Strike[/skill][skill]Fox Fangs[/skill][skill]Nine Tail Strike[/skill].. but again that's PvP minded.
